Foundation Review: MaxFactor 'FaceFinity' - All Day Flawless

Thursday, March 21, 2013

Hello everyone. I know I've been a little quiet on the blogging front but uni work had taken over my life for a little while there. I've been meaning to do a review on this product for so long, so today I'm going to be doing my first foundation review.

Max Factor: 'FaceFinity' - All Day Flawless retails at around £10.99-£11.99 depending on various offers and drugstores. Its a fairly new foundation on the market. It claims to be a '3 in 1' product. Meaning that it's a primer, concealer and foundation all in one. This is what had drawn me to this product in the first place. As I'm quite lazy I thought with the foundation being a three in one, it would be a huge time saver and also could save me a lot of money from buying primers and concealers.

I have the shade 'Beige: 55'

Pros of this foundation (not very much):

1.) The foundation has SPF20 which means it will protect your skin which is perfect if you live in a hot country or are planning on going abroad.
2.) The packaging is basic and pretty simple. However I like that it has a glass container and a plastic lid. I also like that it has a pump therefore you can have control over how much product you want.
3.) The foundation is build able so you can achieve a high coverage of a natural coverage.

Con's of this foundation ( a lot of cons):

1.) I found this foundation to be very patchy.
2.) Does not last most of the day.
3.) Has very orange undertones considering 'Beige' was one of the lightest tones.
4.) I feel it's also quite pricey at £11.99 for a high street brand.
5.) I also did not see the benefits of it claiming to be a '3 in 1' product.

Overall I wasn't very impressed with this foundation. I'm usually quite a big fan of Max Factor. I absolutely love their pressed powder. I honestly wanted to believe that this foundation was a great product but I really wasn't feeling it the more I used it.

During the day it would start coming off my face in different areas such as around my nose and mouth and considering it has a primer in the foundation I did not expect this to happen. I tried applying this foundation using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and my Mac Foundation Brush (which I cant remember the number off) and it still did not spread evenly and just left my face looking patchy with more foundation around my forehead and nose than anywhere else.

There are definitely better drugstore foundations on the market and for a lot cheaper as well. I would seriously recommend the likes of Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' Foundation (£8.99) or Maybelline 'Fit Me' Foundation (£7.99)

Hope you have enjoyed, new post in a few days.
