BIKINI SEASON IS UPON US!
Saturday, July 09, 2016
G'day all from rainy Sydney! Quite ironic actually, since I've been here in Sydney I've managed to be able to get one decent day of bikini wearing loveliness, yet here I am discussing my favourite swimsuits pieces from the web. However there are plans in the pipeline to travel up North soon to sunnier pastures so I think that's a fair excuse to be doing some window bikini shopping.
I've always had a thing for bikinis and after I book a holiday it's one of the first things that I begin searching for online and in the high-street. After many years of buying cheap bikinis I realised that it was becoming a waste of money. I would buy numerous bikinis before going on holiday and by the end of the week the colour would be faded, the material would be tarnished and the overall structure of the bikini would be out of shape which does not make for a very flattering bikini beach goddess look.
As I've got older and have matured I feel that I am more self-conscious of myself in a bikini now than I ever was. I am constantly checking that everything is where it should be and that it flatters my shape and figure. By investing in some slightly more expensive swimsuits and bikinis over the past few years, especially for coming to Australia this year, I feel a lot more comfortable in my own skin. It's amazing what a structured and well-fitted bikini can do for those that may dread bikini season.
Don't get me wrong, expensive bikinis aren't always the answer. High street brands such as Primark, Tesco and even Asda are upping their game when it comes to cheap, affordable and good quality swimwear pieces.
It's also great to see swimsuits becoming hugely popular in the past few months. A lot of women feel a lot more comfortable in a swimsuit, me included but I was always put off by the lack of selection. I wanted something fashion forward as well as flattering and I feel that a few years ago that just didn't exist. I've included some hot swimsuits below for those of you who prefer that style. You'll not just feel more comfortable, but also extremely glamorous.
I've listed a few pieces that caught my eye from some of my favourite brands online. They range in style and price so there's something for everyone.
