Bright city lights...

This is the moment I pinched myself. I can't quite believe that I am getting to experience the places that I have wanted to see for such a long time. Brisbane or 'Brizzie' completely exceeded my expectations. Myself and Peter spent 4 days in Brisbane a few weeks ago and decided to splash out on an apartment smack bang in the centre of Brisbane. If your looking for a great apartment with easy accessible transport links and city centre location then I recommend checking out Adina Apartments Hotel.
What would city life be without spending at least a day shopping? As a self-confessed shopaholic I was in my element. Shops ranged from European to Australian only brands which meant I was able to shop in my beloved shops from home as well as exploring new brands I had never heard of before. If your not from Australia and are considering visiting Brisbane, check out Cotton-On and City Beach for cheap but stylish clothing and footwear.
After a day of shopping we decided to explore Brisbane a little further. We came across the cities bike system, CityCycle. They have stations all over the city and you can dock your bike almost anywhere. Renting a bike was certainly the most fun way to get about as well as the quickest. For only $2 per half an hour, we were able to get from one side of the city to the other. I would seriously recommend seeing Southbank by bike, it was such a relaxing ride through the beautiful botanical gardens and along the river. We also managed to have a sneaky peek at the Streets Beach, Australia's only beach in the middle of the city. So If if you want beach life mixed with city life, Brisbane's got it all.
If your looking for a great and reasonably priced place to eat check out Beach House Bar & Grill in the Myer Centre in the city centre. They have an extensive menu to suit all. If your around the city on a Wednesday I highly recommend Parmi Night. Unbelievable choice, great food and only $15 per person and if you want something to wash it all down, why not get a JUG of beer for only $13.
Brisbane offers a wide variety of things to do and see for every kind of traveller. Whether your a foodie, nature enthusiast, shopaholic or just a general sight-seer then you won't be disappointed.
